The American Fashion Lab (AFL) is a national nonprofit development lab supporting emerging fashion designers as they transition from education to professional practice. AFL provides structured mentorship, production guidance, and critical development support for designers who demonstrate skill and commitment but lack access to industry infrastructure.
AFL membership is designed to support community engagement, peer connection, and ongoing professional dialogue among designers, models, and creative practitioners. Membership operates independently from cohort-based development programs and does not influence selection, advancement, or participation decisions.
